A George IV ebonised bobbin side chair, with upholstered cushion seat in black and white zig-zag and delicately turned spindles to the splat. Beautifully considered carving to each bobbin can be seen as the lengths graduate in size both on the front legs and arm and on the back columns. The ebonised finish and proportions look towards the increasing influence of Japan and the emerging Aesthetic movement
